Swedish company wants to reduce the distance in remote work
How to maintain community, collaboration, and job satisfaction when employees are not always in the same office? Now, the Swedish company Vroff is launching a digital office for hybrid work – a collaboration platform with data storage within the EU that offers an alternative to the global cloud services many use today.
Hybrid and remote work have become a permanent part of work life. According to SCB, today, twice as many people work from home as before the pandemic. When teams work from different locations, much of what previously occurred naturally in the office disappears – the overview of what colleagues are working on, the ongoing dialogue in everyday life, and the feeling of being part of a culture and community, says Peder Holst, co-founder of Vroff.
– Working remotely is no longer an exception but a structural change in the work life. Tools like Vroff are needed, which reduce the distance in remote work and make it easier to collaborate and maintain the overview in teams, says Peder Holst.
Vroff is built as a virtual office where teams work in open or closed digital rooms. Users can see which colleagues are available, what others are working on, and easily make contact or start a meeting.
One might say that Vroff is like a regular office, only virtual. The platform is developed based on how people actually collaborate in everyday life, rather than how traditional digital systems are structured.
– Vroff is reminiscent of Slack, Teams, and Trello, but in one single system that also meets new strict EU requirements for digital security, says Peder Holst.
EU-based data storage
The demands for control over digital providers and where the organization's data is stored are increasing in line with new European regulations and a greater focus on cybersecurity.
Vroff's platform is operated with data storage in Sweden and is subject to GDPR. Since the service is operated within the EU, it is also outside the U.S. Cloud Act legislation, which means that user data cannot be required by U.S. authorities. This makes Vroff particularly relevant for organizations with high demands on data security and control over their information.
